That's Better
Well, this baseball weekend is huge, isn't it?
From 21-14 to 28-15, the baseball team is doing the things it did last season...timely hitting with runners in scoring position, solid pitching (especially in relief) and good defense.
About a week ago, Tulane was struggling at the plate and wasn't shutting much of anyone down from a pitching standpoint. Amazing what relatively mediocre competition (SFA, UCF, NWST and LSU) will do for your pitching and hitting.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote that Tulane needed one person offensively and one person defensively to really take charge, and since then two guys have done just that. Warren McFadden is putting the offensive load on his shoulders and has been a BEAST these last few weeks. Sean Morgan has dominated his last two outings...true, the rise of these players have come against weak competition, but you still gotta hit the ball and make'em miss, and that's what they've done (finally). Hamilton's managed to hit four homeruns in the last week too.
Now comes the real test against ECU on the road. Take two-of-three and the rest of the schedule plays right into your hands...home games against USM and Marshall, which you hope they can win at least four games from those two.
